W e always recognize the position of a city or country by the route of public transportation system. New transportation system can make people know a place in a new vision.”The landscape memory of railway--Taiwan High Speed rail (THSR) series” is a project focused on the newest and fastest railway in Taiwan, which was finished in 2007. THSR is built for commercial persons to help them get destination quickly. With old transportation system , passengers needed to take 5- 8 hours from the most north city to the most south of Taiwan, but by THSR passengers just needed to spend only two hours. With the high speed and new route, which is different from the old transportation system , THSR's passengers ' cognition of Taiwanese landscapes also changed with the development of this new railway. In the project , I took 36 pictures (the mount of 135 film) between station and station, then I choose three of them to colleague the m as an continuous but in fact “incontinuous” panorama . Under the panorama was the abstract line which was compressed from the 36 pictures that I took between stations. In this work, I wanted to show human's visual sensory when taking the THSR, and the landscape memory of passengers. |
