《解語花心中:基隆港朝鮮妓生殉情事件》是一件結合臺語唸歌和實驗聲響的錄像裝置作品。兩個錄像投影中,第一面的臺語唸歌,是由陳飛豪先就日治時期1930年代講述發生在基隆的「基隆七號房慘案」殺妻分屍案的唸歌為引,延伸虛構出以當時在臺朝鮮人的故事並且撰寫成新的短篇小說後,再請臺語唸歌藝術創作者周定邦重新編寫成唸歌表演。穿插的概念影像,則是以朝鮮半島與臺灣的舊歷史影像,結合實驗性聲響的錄像。而整體的創作素材融合了文學、唸歌與錄像裝置,在主調具有濃厚傳統風情的臺語唸歌氛圍中,以日治時期跨族群與跨時代的藝術思考,企圖結合過去、當代甚至未來的時空想像。
Hae-eo-hwa Shinjū: Korean Kisaeng’s Love Suicide at Keelung Harbor is a video installation, which combines traditional Taiwanese narrative song (liamkua) and experimental sound. The first video projection features a Taiwanese narrative song: CHEN Fei-hao first draws inspiration from the traditional Taiwanese narrative song, “Murder at Room No. 7, Keelung City,” which is about the murder involving dismemberment of a woman by her husband during the period of Japanese rule in the 1930s. Then, he creates a short story about a Korean in Taiwan at the time, and further invites Taiwanese narrative song artist Chou Ting-pang to adapt his literary work into a performance of Taiwanese narrative song. The conceptual work of images in the work, which comprises historical images of both the Korean Peninsula and Taiwan with experimental sounds. The overall creative materials of this work include literature, Taiwanese narrative song and video installation. In the midst of an atmosphere permeated with Taiwanese narrative song that exudes an intense nostalgic and traditional air, the artist focuses on the inter-racial time of the Japanese rule and the artistic thinking that crosses different periods to amalgamate his imagination of the past, the present, and even the future.
